Professional Headlight Restoration Odessa-Midland TX.

Nexgen Auto Pros can renew your headlights to relatively new again. Nearly all vehicles manufactured after the early 90's are equipped with acrylic rather than glass headlamp lenses. This trend, moving from glass to acrylic headlamps, has welcomed vehicle engineers more flexibility in creating gas-efficient vehicles because they can better utilize aerodynamic design principles. The problem with this transition is that, unlike glass, acrylic headlamps fade, yellow and discolor over the years due primarily to constant exposure to the sun's UV rays.

In inclusion this radiation, other aspects such as road debris and chemicals also cause plastic lenses to deteriorate over time, both in appearance and more importantly in function. Meanwhile driving at night or in the fog these yellow faded headlamps can cause serious challenges. Nexgen Auto Pros can renew your acrylic headlamps for a fraction of the cost it would take to replace your existing headlamps at a dealership. Saving you time, money & not to mention a trip to the dealership.

Headlight Restoration FAQ's

Do you come to me?

No, all our services are performed at our shop location in Odessa Texas. We're located across the street form Lush Nails & Bar.

How long does this service take?

It depends on the size and condition, but it typically takes 60 to 90 minutes to complete. If the condition is severe, it’ll take longer.

Can you restore any headlights?

Like many things, once the headlights get to a certain point, there is only so much we can do to restore them to a like-new condition. Your headlights can look better after we’re done, but there can also be permanent damage.

Why do my headlights look yellow or hazy ?

Your headlights, just like your paint, have a clear coat on them. As the suns beats on it week after week, the clear coat starts to deteriorate. Eventually what was clear turns into an opaque hazy lens.

Considering the heat that Texas produces, your headlights are exposed to maximum heat- and if you park your car directly in the sun for most of the day, that’s only going to add to the damage. Because of the material of the headlights, the clear coat on them doesn't last nearly as long as the clear coat on the paint.

How do I keep my headlights looking good?

It can be a bit tricky. Typical waxes and sealants will only protect your car for so long. If you park your car in the shade most of the time, then they’ll simply last longer than if you park outside in the sun most of the time.

You can apply a sealant or wax to your headlights every 3 to 5 weeks. This can take less than 15 minutes to do.
